TID – Day 20 – For the Little Ones

Sorry for the late post. Shopping at the Mall is.. is.. let’s say ‘fun’.

Name Roll & Play
Players As many little ones as you want
Play Time Some to Many minutes
Game Style Pick a Card, Do an Action

Now for my Daughter’s favourite game. Basic play is as follows: roll the giant die, pick the right colour card, do the action. At 2, she loves rolling the safe and soft die all over the house, and then running to grab a card. We have a great time doing the actions, and then passing the die off to the next player. I can see this one working wonders in a Kindergarten classroom as students learn about lots of social situations, and developing a physical literacy.

Direct Curricular Applicability: Strong
– Lots of Great Kindie connections – Colours, Emotions, Animals…
Time to Play Quick
This one can last as long as you need it to.
Tangential Learning: Strong
Lots of different topics to look up and discuss.
Gameplay Complexity Almost Non-existent
Roll Die, Pick Card, Do action. Lather, Rinse, Repeat.
OVERALL: Hey, anything that I can have fun with, and my 2 year-old loves, is fantastic!
